SUMMARY:Thriverr Gathering: Using AI in your Economic Development Organization
DESCRIPTION:We’ll explore how we can use AI to enhance our work\, geared specifically toward economic development organizations.\nJoin us for our first ever Thriverr Gathering focused on Using AI in your Economic Development Organization. We will be joined Andy Jorgensen and Dan Klosterman from the EdgeTeam\, based out of Sioux Falls. EdgeTeam has trained thousands of people on AI\, including the Dakota Resources staff. We are excited to partner with them to bring this two-day gathering to all of you. \nBy the end of the workshop\, participants will: \n\nHave a deeper understanding of how AI can be used specifically in economic development scenarios\, not just generic business or nonprofit scenarios\,\nGet a sense for the AI landscape and all the jargon that comes with it\,\nSee live demonstrations of AI-technology based around EDO work such as grants\, board reports\, and community communications\,\nBuild a real AI workflow for something they do every week\, with the hands on support.\n\nYou will need to bring your own laptop to this hands on event. \n\n\nAgenda\nDay 1 – Tuesday\, November 18\, 2026\nWelcome and Check-in \nMapping the AI Landscape\nWe will conduct an environmental scan to identify the AI tools\, trends\, and terminology economic developers are running into. \nLunch \nAI Fundamentals \nHands-on Workshop\nParticipants will work on their laptops using their preferred AI tools with assistance available from the EdgeTeam. \nDinner & Social Time \nDay 2 – Wednesday\, November 18\, 2026\nCheck-in\nAI Fundamentals\nHands-on Workshop \n\n\nRegister today!
